On a cold, rainy night, the Raiders’ eight game winning steak would come to an end as they fell to Byrnes 41-12 in the second round of the playoffs.
Byrnes jumped out to an early lead offensively, and their defense would stand firmly against the Raider rushing attack. Instead, it was the Byrnes rushing attack that took center stage.
The Raiders were able to get some offense going in the fourth quarter with a pair of 10 play drives, but it would not be enough. Both of the Raiders’ drives were punctuated with 10 yard scoring runs from Duane Martin. Both extra points were missed.
Martin led the Raiders on the ground with 96 yards on 17 carries. Fellow senior Ryan Campbell added 71 yards on 14 carries.
The Raiders finished the season 9-2.
