The Raiders scored the first 21 points of the game on their way to a convincing 63-29 win over Easley in the regular season finale. The Raiders (8-1, 7-0) will now take the top seed from Region 1-5A to the playoffs, riding a seven game winning streak.
Quarterback Ryan Campbell got the Raiders off to a fast start with a pair of first quarter touchdowns. Campbell scored from 13 and 2 yards to give the Raiders a 14-0 lead. Campbell would push the lead to 21-0 when he found freshman Cason Elledge for a 60 yard scoring strike to cap off a 21 point first quarter.
Easley would get on the board to cut the lead to 21-7, but the Raiders would respond with two more touchdowns in the second quarter.
Zy Todd scored for the first time on an 11 yard run. Campbell would strike again through the air, this time to Quin Patterson for 26 yards to push the lead to 35-7.
The Green Wave would score just before half and then again after half to cut the lead to 35-21, but the Raiders would reel off 28 unanswered points to seal the victory.
The Raiders would get a second score from Todd, this time from 34 yards out, and a 2 yard run from Duane Martin to increase the lead to 41-21 after three quarters.
Todd’s third score of the game would open the scoring in the fourth quarter. This time, Todd raced 61 yards to pay dirt. Freshman Gemire Darden would get into the action with a 5 yard run to finish the scoring for the Raiders.
The Raiders will now host Blythewood Friday night in the first round of the playoffs.
