The Raiders used a punishing ground attack on a soggy night to defeat Easley 42-12 on Senior night at KC Hanna Stadium. The win secured a playoff spot for the Raiders.
The Raiders jumped out early on the Greenwave, posting a pair of touchdowns in the opening quarter. Duane Martin punctuated a five play 58 yard drive on its opening possession with a one yard run. Devon Hubner added the extra point for a 7-0 lead. After stopping the Greenwave, the Raiders would need just one play to add to its lead. Jordan Woodruff sprinted 59 yards for a score, and after Hubner’s PAT, the Raiders led 14-0.
In the second quarter, the Raiders would score just once, while the Greenwave added a pair of scores to cut into the Raider lead. Martin’s second score of the night came on a 38 yard run. The Raiders would lead 21-12 at half time.
The Raiders would not allow another Easley score while the offense posted three more scores in the second half. Martin’s third score of the night, along with Hubner’s PAT gave the Raiders a 28-12 lead.
In the fourth quarter, Will Tinsley would score on a perfectly executed fake field goal attempt, and Ryan Campbell would add a 5 yard run to round out the scoring.
The Raiders were lead by Ryan Campbell’s 149 yards rushing, while Duane Martin followed with 102 yards on the ground. The Raiders totaled 397 yards total rushing on the night.
The Raiders will have an off week before traveling to Rock Hill for a first round playoff game on November 9th.
