The Laurens Lady Raiders fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 6-4 loss to TL Hanna in an elimination game on Saturday, despite out-hitting TL Hanna twelve hits to four.
Ashley Aman pitched a complete game for the Lady Yellow Jackets, lasting seven innings and allowing 12 hits and four runs while striking out two and walking one.
Taylor Powell got the start for Laurens. She allowed one hit and three runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one. Rachel Delio threw five and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen.
The Lady Raiders were aggressive at the plate totaling 12 hits. Jill Sward, Cassy Plaia, Kauree Munyan, and Octavia Johnson each racked up multiple hits. Johnson, Munyan, Plaia, and Sward each collected two hits to lead the team. They also tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Vanessa Harshaw led the way with two.

Although the Laurens offense was very strong, the Lady Raiders struggled defensively, committing eleven total errors.
The Lady Raiders finished the season with an overall 16-12 record. The team will take the last few weeks of school off before preparations for the 2019 season starts. They will be returning nine players, including eight starters from the 2018 season.
The end of the season banquet is scheduled for Tuesday, May 18. The festivities will be held at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church, beginning at 6:00 PM.
