Laurens County School District 55 (LCSD 55) recently recognized Erin Lake as the April Administrative Office Employee of the Month. This is Lake’s first year in the school district, but one would never know it based on her level of involvement. In addition to her role in the administrative office, Lake is assistant athletic director and head varsity volleyball coach at Laurens District 55 High School.
Hard work and dedication are not new to Lake. She was a member of her high school’s three-time state championship varsity volleyball team, and a member of three SEC volleyball championship teams while at the University of Florida. Lake notes that she welcomes the opportunities each new day brings. “Today may provide opportunities
for me to be a good listener, a teacher, a friend, a voice of reason, or to encourage someone who is struggling,” she said. “I enjoy books that motivate and inspire me to do more than just the minimum, and I like to help motivate and inspire others in the same way.”
Edward Murray, LCSD 55 Director of Administrative Services and District Athletic Director, said, “Erin exemplifies the diversity of skills necessary to serve in public education today. She is a valuable member of the team in LCSD 55.”
Married to Robert Lake, the couple has two rescue dogs, Bella and Remington. Lake enjoys spending her free time at athletic events.
The LCSD 55 Administrative Office Employee of the Month is an initiative designed to recognize the importance of support staff members at the district level. Recipients are nominated by administrators based on the employee’s ability, attitude, and efforts to provide quality services.
Congratulations to Coach Erin Lake!
