Try-outs for all Laurens High School Raider Cheer squads
will be Monday, April 22 – Thursday, April 25. Try-outs will begin promptly at 4:00 pm and end at 6:00 pm and will be held in the high school auxiliary gym.
There will be separate squads for football and basketball this upcoming year. All of those trying out must come dressed in appropriate athletic shoes and clothing. You will not be allowed to wear any form of jewelry during try-outs. You will be judged based on cheer technique, dance orientation, jumps, spirit, and overall impression during try-outs. In addition, your positive attitude, teacher recommendations, discipline, and motivation will be
key factors that could influence the decision of the judges. The cheerleading squads will be announced at the end of the school day on Friday, April 26. Being on a squad last year does not guarantee you a position on this year’s squad. Girls will be placed on squads based on their scores, and the judges’ decisions are final.

Please fill out the attached cheerleading information packet and bring it with you to tryouts. Teacher recommendations must be submitted in a sealed envelope, or the teacher may return it to Laurens District 55 High School through district mail on or before Monday, April 23. Teachers may also email the recommendations to firstname.lastname@example.org.
