Game Recap

The Raiders held their own all night against an undefeated Irmo team, scoring to tie the game at 21-21 with just 2:26 left in the 4th quarter. Statistically, it could have been anyone’s game. Unfortunately, it was Irmo who put together 8 plays for 70 yards and a touchdown with just 48 seconds left in the game. That was not enough for the Raiders to get another score before time ran out.

Bright spots:

1) Devon Hubner remained perfect on the season, going 3 for 3 on extra points.
2) The passing game stepped up when Irmo closed off the run. Troy Dendy still had a hard fought 77 yards on the night and was credited with all three Raider touchdowns (2 rushing TDs and 1 TD reception). Ryan Campbell had 20 completions for 213 yards and one touchdown, giving the ball away one time on an interception by Irmo’s Kidre Diggs. Campbell spread the ball around again, throwing completions to six (6) different receivers.
3) Speaking of receivers, Aaron McLeod had 7 receptions for 46 yards; Deonta Smith pulled in 5 for 51 yards; Troy Dendy had 3 for 36 yards; and Chris Jackson and Will Tinsley had one reception each.

The Raiders will be back home at K.C. Hanna next Friday night for a 7:30 kickoff against the Boiling Springs Bulldogs.
