Game Recap

Laurens grabbed an early lead on its way to a 13-3 victory over Wade Hampton on Tuesday. The Raiders scored on a double by Octavia Johnson and a fielder’s choice by Jillian Sward in the second inning.

Laurens scored six runs in the sixth inning. The big inning was thanks to two errors, a single by Matti Cantrell, and a home run by CJ Ginn.

Rachel Delio earned the win. She tossed six innings, giving up three runs, four hits, striking out three, and walking zero.

Laurens had ten hits in the game. Cantrell and Ginn each collected multiple hits. Ginn led the Lady Raiders with three runs batted in. She went 2-for-3 on the day. Laurens stole nine bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Cantrell led the way with three.

The Raiders finished the regular season with a 16-8 record, and an 8-2 region record. The Lady Raiders won their fourth consecutive Region Championship, and clinched the #1 seed in the District Two 5A Playoff Bracket. The Raiders will open playoff play when they host Westside on Thursday night.
