Game Recap

The Laurens Raiders dropped a region contest at Riverside by the score of 61-43 on Tuesday night. The Raiders drop to 1-2 in region and are in need of a win Friday at Greenwood to keep track in the region playoff race.
The Riverside Warriors controlled the offense early as they raced out to a 20-10 lead in the first quarter. With the Warriors spread out with 4 perimeter players, the Laurens Raiders could not get stops when they needed in the first half. The Raiders found themselves in a 34-23 deficit at the break.
In the third quarter the Raiders were able to inch as close as 6 points at 35-29, but the Raiders would get no closer the rest of the way. The Raiders trailed 44-35 going into the final quarter. The Warriors held the ball, which forced the Raiders to take gambles on defense resulting in layups for the Warriors. Riverside won this game on the boards where they outrebounded the Raiders 36-18
Carson Todd led the Raiders with 15 points. Josh Greene added 12. Also scoring for the Raiders were Keenan Dickey and Justin Anderson with 6 points each, Ty Foster and Rakeem Franklin each had 2 points to round out the scoring for the Raiders.
The Raiders drop to 4-12 overall on the season and play at Greenwood on Friday. Both the Raiders and the Greenwood Eagles are 1-2 in the region, which makes Friday a critical game for both teams
